It is just over a month until the 2023 San Francisco Writers Conference and there is so much to share. Once again there are multiple ways to participate in the conference and a so much information related to writing to share. So First I'll start with full San Francisco Writers Conference, then the Writing for Hollywood and Poetry Summits, followed by the Master Classes.
San Francisco Writers Conference
The San Francisco Writers Conference is February 16-19, 2023 (President's Day weekend). For those who may have attended in the past, yes, we are back to our normal conference dates. The Writing for Hollywood Summit and Poetry Summit classes are included with full conference registration. In addition, each registration includes keynote speeches, breakfast with the pros, agent panels, and even the opportunity to a free one-on-one consult with an editor, promotional pro, book coach, and all networking social events. If you missed the early registration pricing and still want to register for the full conference, the following code you will get a $50 discount on full conference registration: SFWC2023Farquhar. The conference is divided into six tracks: Fiction, Kidlit, Non-fiction, Business & Marketing, and the Writing for Hollywood, and Poetry Summits. All topics are lead by successful authors, editors, and agents. Below are brief descriptions of each track.
Fiction
This track covers the craft of writing fiction. Classes cover everything from the elements of plot, world building, to narration.
Kidlit
This track covers various craft and industry topics on a range of genres from picture books, to young adult (YA), to graphic novels.
Non-fiction
This track covers various craft and industry topics on a range of genres from essays, to blogging, to non-fiction books.
Business & Marketing
This track covers various business and marketing topics for all your intellectual property (IP). Topics range from regular media to social media, traditional publishing to self-publishing, to finding and connecting with readers.
Writing for Hollywood Summit
The Writing for Hollywood Summit and its classes are all about writing for Hollywood. It covers everything from the importance of your intellectual property (IP), to screenwriting and adapting your novel, to what Hollywood is looking for and more. As I noted above, full conference attendees may attend any of these classes. However, if someone purchases only the Writing for Hollywood Summit, then they may only attend Writing for Hollywood Summit classes.

Poetry Summit
The Poetry Summit and its classes are all about poetry. It covers topics such as writing, editing and publishing poetry. As I noted above, full conference attendees may attend any of these classes. However, if someone purchases only the Poetry Summit, then they may only attend Poetry Summit classes.

Master Classes
Master Classes are open to the general public and are Thursday February 16, 2023 from 6:30pm PT to 9:30pm PT or Sunday February 19, 2023 from 2:00pm PT to 5:00pm PT. These classes are in person only. One does not need to be a San Francisco Writers Conference (including the two Summits) attendee to register. Master Classes are not included in the full San Francisco Writers Conference registration fee. These classes are 3 hour intensives on a single subject and taught by authors, agents, editors, and other presenters at the conference.
If you are looking to dive into a topic at a deeper level, don't have the time or money for the full San Francisco Writers Conference (or one of the Summits) but still want to participate and learn and grow as a writer, Master Classes are a great opportunity.
Classes this year cover topics from creating the perfect pitch or sound bite, a variety of craft topic, super charged research, and self-editing.
